Binance expressed readiness to discuss crypto regulation with the Central Bank of the Russian Federation
The Binance cryptocurrency exchange is open for discussion with the Central Bank of the regulation of cryptocurrencies in Russia. This was announced by a representative of the company in a conversation with RIA Novosti.
“We are open to dialogue and discussion of protecting the interests of respectable Russian users of cryptocurrencies,” the source said.
Earlier today, the Bank of Russia published a report for public consultations on cryptocurrencies, in which it proposed to ban the use of the national infrastructure for operations with them, as well as their mining.
“We will be happy to have a dialogue to discuss the abstracts of the advisory report and sincerely hope that the advisory report will initiate a dialogue between the Central Bank of Russia and representatives of the cryptocurrency market,” the company added.
A Binance representative noted that the exchange is responsible for compliance with regulatory requirements and is committed to cooperation with government agencies. He also assured that Binance goes beyond industry standards in detecting illegal transactions with cryptocurrencies, including those related to money laundering and terrorist financing.
“We are actively blocking users from regions that are subject to sanctions,” he concluded.
Last week it became known that Binance hired the former head of the department for collecting and processing reports of the Bank of Russia, Olga Goncharova, to the position of regional director for relations with the authorities.
