The CEO of the French division of the cryptocurrency exchange Binance, Stephanie Cabossioras, is leaving her post amid the company’s litigation with financial regulators in the US and Europe.

Stéphanie Cabossioras joined the Binance team last April as Head of Legal for the region. She also served as acting CEO of Binance France. Cabossioras previously worked as Deputy General Counsel at the French Financial Markets Authority (AMF) and joined Binance when the company announced the creation of its European center in Paris.

“We thank Stephanie for her many contributions to Binance France and wish her all the best,” said Binance France President David Prinçay.

Kabossioras confirmed her departure but declined to comment further.

In June, French authorities launched an investigation against Binance, suspecting the company of illegally providing digital asset services and aggravated money laundering. The exchange has suspended some services in a number of European countries in recent months after encountering difficulties with regulators, including in the Netherlands, Belgium, the UK and Germany.

Kabossioras became the latest top manager to leave Binance. Previously, Binance’s head of product and design, Mayur Kamat, resigned. Other recent departures include Binance Asia Pacific director Leon Foong, chief strategy officer Patrick Hillman, general counsel Hon Ng and chief business officer Yibo Ling.

In September, it became known that two top managers were leaving Binance amid the company’s litigation with financial regulators in the US and Europe – Binance’s director in Eastern Europe, Gleb Kostarev, and director in the CIS, Vladimir Smerkis, announced their departure.
