A little-known crypto asset has skyrocketed in value after an unexpected listing on the global cryptocurrency exchange Binance.
– Binance (@binance) October 7, 2021
After the announcement, the Radicle decentralized project token (RAD) has grown from $ 9.34 to $ 23.85, or 155%. On the evening of October 7, the altcoin was valued at $ 21.33. At the time of writing, it is trading at $ 18.48.
The Radicle network acts as an alternative to GitHub, allowing developers to collaborate through smart contracts rather than relying on permission from centralized sysadmins.
RAD’s native governance token runs on the Ethereum (ETH) blockchain and offers discounts and governance opportunities to its holders.
Collaborating on Radicle is different from collaborating on centralized code sharing platforms like GitHub and GitLab. Network members share and distribute the data they are interested in, maintaining local redundant copies known as “replication” and exchanging their local data with selected partners. The Radicle stack is open source from start to finish. We do not have any “closed” components. Each component of the Radicle stack can be checked, modified, and expanded. Radicle is based on a P2P architecture, not a client-server model – written on the Radicle website.
Binance says RAD will be available for trading with Bitcoin (BTC), Binance Coin (BNB), Binance USD (BUSD), and Tether (USDT).
According to CoinGecko, on October 8, the token is in 188th place with a market cap of $ 386,523,155. There are 20,970,836 RAD in circulation out of a total supply of 99,999,130.
