Binance Promises to Teach Young Africans Financial Freedom

The world’s largest crypto exchange is sponsoring the Binance Blockchain and Cryptocurrency Awareness (BCAT) tour. The site specialists are going to share knowledge in the field of crypto technologies with Africans.

Binance Becomes Title Sponsor of BCAT and will hold in June a series of study tours to the countries of the African continent. The program is aimed at young Africans and is designed to increase their level of financial literacy. Binance hopes that the trained citizens of African countries will be able to use cryptocurrencies and apply blockchain technology in everyday life. Binance plans for 2022 to conduct training in Nigeria, Ghana, Uganda and Cameroon. The main topics will be Move2Earn games, P2E projects, NFTs and metaverses.

Binance’s interests on the continent are due to the fact that Africa account for the largest share of the total volume of retail crypto transfers than in any other region of the world – more than 7%, with a global average of 5.5%. The majority of the active part of African citizens are looking for an alternative to the traditional monetary system, and their motivation will not dry up in the near future, because due to imperfect infrastructure, many are deprived of access to banking services, Binance says. In addition, young people in Africa are actively looking for remote work in the crypto and IT sectors.

In 2021, African content has shown itself to be one of the fastest growing crypto markets in the world. According to rating Global Crypto Adoption Index by Chainalysis, six African countries ranked in the top 20 fastest crypto adoption rates – Kenya (5th), Nigeria (6th), Togo (9th), South Africa (16th), Ghana (17th) and Tanzania (19). For comparison, the leader of the Chainalysis rating is Vietnam. The Russian Federation occupies the 18th position.

In May, the Swiss non-profit organization Tezos Foundation announced that it had raised about $1.23 million to create non-fungible tokens from the work of emerging artists in Asia and Africa.
