Brave’s privacy browser developers will soon be integrating the Binance Smart Chain (BSC) wallet, which will give browser users access to DeFi products on the BSC.
According to a statement on the Binance Chain blog, Brave can already be manually configured to work with projects on Binance Smart Chain, however adding a pre-configured wallet will make it easier to access BSC through a browser.
The Basic Attention Token (BAT) crypto asset has become BSC compliant in the form of Wrapped BAT (WBAT). BAT holders can use multiple “bridges” that connect Ethereum and Binance Smart Chain to participate in DeFi projects at BSC.
“We hope that BAT and Brave will help increase the popularity of cryptocurrencies and make the DeFi industry more accessible to the mass market,” said Brendan Eich, CEO and co-founder of Brave.
Brave’s confidential browser has over 25 million monthly active users and over 7 million daily active users. Binance Smart Chain Ecosystem Coordinator Xiaoguang Zhang echoed Brendan Eich’s view that Brave’s Binance Smart Chain integration is driving the growth of DeFi and cryptocurrency users.
“Through this strategic integration between the Brave browser and Binance Smart Chain, we will together provide a user-friendly interface for accessing DeFi and Dapps on BSC and other blockchains, driving the growth of DeFi and the availability of financial services,” Zhang said.
With the addition of BSC support to Brave, BAT owners will be able to interact with BSC-based DeFi projects like PancakeSwap, BakerySwap, Beefy Finance, Venus, DODO, OpenOcean, Autofarm and more.
Recall that in February, the developers of the Brave browser updated the project roadmap and added the creation of an aggregator of decentralized exchanges (DEX) and a Brave Wallet to it.
