Binance.US Obtains a License to Operate in Puerto Rico


The American division of the Binance cryptocurrency exchange has received a license to provide services in the free economic zone of the United States with preferential taxation of cryptocurrencies – Puerto Rico.

This is the fourth license obtained by Binance.US in four months. Exchange informedwhich intends to expand the market of its services throughout the United States and continues to work on obtaining several more licenses that will allow it to provide services to investors throughout the country.

Binance.US CEO Brian Shroder emphasized that the company’s goal is to offer fully regulated services in all 50 states and territories of North America.

“Puerto Rico is an important market for the growth of the cryptocurrency industry, and we look forward to continuing to offer its residents safe, secure, and affordable access to digital assets,” said Schroeder.

He added that the Puerto Rico Financial Institutions Authority’s acquisition of a cryptocurrency license followed a $200 million funding round that valued the trading platform at $4.5 billion. Binance.US plans to use the capital raised to improve its platform for spot trading. trading, developing new products and services, investing in marketing, and creating educational materials for clients.

“After the successful closing of the round, we are thrilled to be able to build momentum with this license and are grateful to Puerto Rico for the trust.
