The American division of the largest cryptocurrency exchange Binance announced that it received a license for money transfers from the Nevada Department of Business and Industry.
Nevada is the seventh jurisdiction where Binance.US received a money transfer license this year, after West Virginia, Connecticut, Wyoming, Rhode Island, Idaho, and Puerto Rico. Binance.US is currently available to residents of 46 US states. Users of the site can trade more than 120 cryptocurrencies and tokens.
“We continue to take the necessary steps to comply with the regulatory requirements of various US states. We ensure the security of our clients’ assets, as well as the security and transparency of our platform. Obtaining a license for money transfers was another testament to our efforts to comply with the requirements of regulators. We are grateful to the Nevada Department of Business and Industry for their time and trust in our platform,” said Binance.US CEO Brian Shroder.
In early August, Binance.US announced the delisting of the AMP token – the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) defined the asset as a security, and the exchange decided to suspend trading with this token until there is more clarity in the classification of the asset.
