Cryptocurrency exchange Binance warned customers about the asset-theft malware Clipper, which has increased in activity in recent weeks, with a notable increase in incidents on August 27.
Malware replaces wallet addresses during transactions, which leads to financial losses.
Clipper is distributed through unofficial apps and plugins. It primarily targets Android users, although iOS devices are also at risk.
To counter the threat, Binance’s security team blacklisted suspicious addresses and informed affected customers.
The exchange recommended that users carefully check withdrawal addresses and scan their devices for malware.
