Bird hit a Iberia aircraft – the pilot made forced landing

An alarm sounded a few minutes after Iberia’s take -off from Madrid when it was hit by a large bird, causing serious damage to the snout and possibly one of the engines. The IB579 flight, to Paris, was forced to return to the Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas Airport, making a safe landing about 20 minutes after take-off. No injuries between passengers and crew were reported. According to Airdatanews, the point where the muzzle was damaged contains critical electronic systems, which makes the incident particularly serious. Air traffic auditors praised the “excellent crew reaction”, which immediately activated the security protocols and requested a landing permit in time.
