A 22 -year -old man was caught in the act after pretending to be a delivery man to apply scams. The suspect was arrested by the Civil Police, in the Boa Vista neighborhood, in the municipality of Blumenau, Santa Catarina, this Saturday (10).
The scheme practiced was the ‘birthday scam’, the suspect applied false charges to customers to get information about his cards and subtract major amounts of accounts.
According to an investigation, the criminal presented himself as a delivery man and claimed to be providing a service on the victim’s birthday. He used an adulterated card machine to make the theft.
Seized collection machines of various brands, mobile phones, credit cards, as well as two motorcycles used in the crimes, inside a condominium in the east of the municipality.
In all 25 people suffered from the actions of the Criminal Association, in the cities of Florianópolis, Palhoça, São José, Biguaçu and Joinville, only last month. The estimated damage is approximately 300 thousand reais.
The Santa Catarina Civil Police continues with investigations to locate everyone involved in the crime.
