Bitcoin hits lowest value in 3 months as economic pessimism worsens

THE bitcoin bigger cryptocurrency in the world, reached the lowest value in more than three months on Sunday (8) and continued to fall this Monday (9), reflecting a worsening of pessimism in the market regarding the situation of the global economy, with an aversion to greater risks due to fears of an intense slowdown in activity.

At around 10 am on Monday (9), the cryptocurrency was down 8.76%, quoted at $32,905, according to data from the Refinitiv platform.

The value is the lowest since January 22 this year, and is far from the highs reached in the second half of 2021, when the cryptocurrency exceeded US$ 60 thousand .

The cryptocurrency had already been retreating over the previous week, following the falls of the technology stocks us U.S . The sector is among the most affected by the high interest rates in the country, with companies needing to pay interest on larger debts.
