The owner of the Bitcoin.org portal under the pseudonym Cobra reported that the site was hacked by scammers, accusing the Cloudflare CDN operator of vulnerabilities.
The site is currently unavailable. Earlier when entering
Bitcoin.org a window popped up in which an announcement about a giveaway was posted. Attackers urge users to send bitcoins to their address, promising to return double the amount.
The site owner believes the web infrastructure provider Cloudflare is to blame for the security breach. The point is that his server did not receive any traffic during the hack.
“Bitcoin.org has never been hacked. We then switched to Cloudflare, and after two months we are hacked. Can you explain where you were sending my traffic? Because my real server did not receive any traffic during the hack, ”he wrote on Twitter.
As a reminder, in July DDoS attacks were already carried out on the site, provoking a denial of service.
In January of this year, notorious Australian entrepreneur Craig Wright demanded that the site’s publisher remove the Bitcoin White Paper, accusing him of copyright infringement. In July, Bitcoin.org was forced to remove the Bitcoin White Paper by the decision of the High Court of London.
