Bitcoins worth 28 million rubles were stolen from a married couple from Moscow

The couple contacted the Metropolitan Police. They reported that they broke into their apartment and stole 1.5 million rubles in cash and a flash drive with access codes to a cryptocurrency wallet for $460,000.

How informs RIA Novosti, citing a source in law enforcement, the police have already begun to investigate the incident. The victims reported a “complete destruction” of the apartment.

“On Wednesday, a man turned to the police, who said that thieves had robbed his apartment in the north of Moscow. According to him, unknown people stole 1.5 million rubles and a flash card with $460,000 worth of cryptocurrencies,” the agency’s source said.

But the publication Life.ru informs about the interesting details of the case. According to journalists, the theft occurred at the time of the absence of the spouses in the apartment. However, the experts failed to find traces of breaking the locks, and, according to the recordings from the cameras, no one suspicious entered the entrance.

According to the injured entrepreneur, most of the cryptocurrency belongs to his “foreign friends”, and he only managed the investments. Interestingly, he had previously been accused of fraud and even served 1.5 years in prison.

Law enforcement agencies suspected that, perhaps, there was no theft of money and a flash drive – it could have been staged by the victims themselves. Now the couple will be sent for a polygraph test.

Recall that in early April, three Muscovites lost 17.7 million rubles when trying to buy cryptocurrencies.
