Bitmain has released a new Bitcoin miner Antminer S21

At the World Digital Mining Summit in Las Vegas, Bitmain presented a new model of the Antminer S21 series bitcoin miner with energy efficiency of up to 12 J/TH.

According to declared specifications, the S21 XP in the air-cooled version generates a hashrate of 270 TH/s with a power consumption of 3645 W and energy consumption of 13.5 J/TH.

The hydrocooled version of the S21 XP Hyd model has 473 TH/s, 5976 W and 12 J/TH respectively.

The company offered these devices for pre-order with individual discounts at a price of $21.5 per TH/s. At the end of the promotion, the cost of miners will increase to $30.6 per TH/s. Deliveries are expected in the fourth quarter of 2024 and the beginning of the next.

According to Hashrate Indexthe current market prices for miners with energy efficiency of at least 25 J/TH are $12.41 per TH/s.

The manufacturer presented the first model of the Antminer S21 series in August 2023. The device provides a hashrate of 270 TH/s with an energy consumption of 17.5 J/TH. In February, the miner won the “Technological Breakthrough of the Year” category at the first Mining Awards 2023 ceremony from Bitdeer Jihan Wu.

In March, the former Bitmain co-founder’s company successfully tested its own 4nm SEAL0 Bitcoin mining chip with 18.1 J/TH. It is expected that the SEALMINER A1 miner based on it will go into mass production in the third quarter of the year.

According to the presented roadmap, Bitdeer plans to introduce the SEAL02 chip with an energy efficiency of 14 J/TH during the same period, and by the end of the year – SEAL03, which assumes an indicator of 10 J/TH.
