Chinese mining equipment manufacturer Bitmain plans to expand its presence in North America by placing 56,000 ASIC miners in Georgia.
To do this, Bitmain entered into a partnership agreement with the Bit5ive data center and the electricity supplier ISW Holdings. The total capacity of the equipment was about 200 MW, and the installation of the devices should be completed by October next year. The first batch of equipment with a total capacity of 20 MW should start working as early as next month.
Considering the power consumption, it is likely that Bitmain will be hosting the latest generation devices from the AntMiner S19 line. On average, such an ASIC miner produces a hash rate of about 100 TH / s, so the total hash rate of equipment on the Bitmain site in Georgia will be 5.6 Eh / s.
The Chinese manufacturer will pay $ 62 million for the placement of equipment and the connection of power grids, of which $ 6 million has already been paid. In July, it was reported that Bitmain would place its ASIC miners in Kazakhstan on the site of the Enegix company. The data center capacity reaches 180 MW.
