The pre-candidate of União Brasil for Palácio do Planalto, Luciano Bivar, told CNN Brasil that former federal judge Sergio Moro will have the support of the acronym if he chooses both to run for the Chamber of Deputies and the Federal Senate in Paraná.
In an interview with the press this week, the former minister said that he will travel around the state to define his candidacy in this year’s elections. His surroundings have advocated that he compete for the post of federal deputy.
“It will be his personal choice. He can choose to run for both the Chamber of Deputies and the Federal Senate in Paraná,” said Bivar.
After having his electoral domicile barred by the Regional Electoral Court of São Paulo (TRE-SP), Moro returned to Paraná and said that he will leave it to the people of Paraná to decide their next step.
Moro also suggested that his wife, Rosângela Wolff Moro, could also pursue a political career, as she was able to move her electoral domicile to São Paulo. “It’s a decision to depend on her alone,” she said.
Moro’s presence in Paraná creates an impasse. If he is a candidate for senator, he can compete with Alvaro Dias, (Podemos-PR), his political godfather.
And if he is a candidate for federal deputy, his competition will be Deltan Dallagnol (Podemos-PR), with whom he worked in Operação Lava Jato.
Debate
THE CNN will hold the first presidential debate of 2022. The clash between the candidates will be broadcast live on August 6, on TV and on our digital platforms.
