The series “Black Mirror ” is back! Netflix released this Wednesday (26) the teaser for the sixth season, which should premiere in June, but still no dates have been set.
Among the little information revealed about the release is the cast, which will feature names like Aaron Paul, Salma Hayek Pinault, Ben Barnes and Michael Cera.
The new season also promises to be the most unpredictable of all. Although there is always an unexpected element in the satirical anthology, this time the creator himself Charlie Brooker says he was surprised.
“I’ve always felt that ‘Black Mirror’ should present totally different stories from each other and continue to surprise people – and myself – or, what’s the point? It must be a series that cannot be easily defined and that can keep reinventing itself,” he said in an interview with Netflix.
With that in mind, Brooker thought of the episodes to surprise the audience. Alongside tropes already familiar to the series, new elements will be added, including ones that Brooker swore she would never tackle in the franchise.
“The stories are still completely ‘Black Mirror’ – but with some crazy changes and more variety than ever before,” he said.
That diversity will be present both in the episodes and in the long list of actors joining for the sixth season.
In addition to the four names mentioned above, the cast also includes stars such as Anjana Vasan, Annie Murphy, Auden Thornton, Clara Rugaard, Daniel Portman, Danny Ramirez, David Shields, Himesh Patel, John Hannah, Josh Hartnett, Kate Mara, Monica Dolan, Myha’la Herrold, Paapa Essiedu, Rob Delaney, Rory Culkin, Samuel Blenkin and Zazie Beetz.
It is on the actors, by the way, that the focus of the teaser is – and not on technology, the main thread of the plot–, which also suggests an emphasis on deaths.
Written and produced by Brooker, the series will also executive produce Jessica Rhoades, Annabel Jones and Bisha K. Ali. They will have the challenge of returning to quality after criticism of the fifth season and the interactive film Bandersnatch which did not please the fans.
“I hope people like it — especially the parts they shouldn’t,” the screenwriter told Netflix.
four years later

The sixth season of “Black Mirror” breaks the series’ nearly four-year hiatus.
Purposeful, this break was motivated by the Covid-19 pandemic, but not necessarily due to mandatory social distancing. In 2020, Brooker stated in an interview with “Radio Times” that the main reason was the climate that had been established in the world:
“At the moment, I’m not sure people would have the stomach for stories about societies falling apart, so I’m not working on any. [episódio de ‘Black Mirror’]. I’m looking forward to revisiting my comic book skills, so I’m writing scripts to make myself laugh.”
The launch clues began to emerge on Tuesday (25), when the official profile of “Black Mirror” on Twitter made a new publication – the last one had been in June 2019.
