The anthological series “Black Mirror” He debuted his seventh season at the Netflix streaming service on Thursday (10). Understand the end of “USS Callister: Infinity”
In the last second, before the game is erased, Captain Nanette transfers to her counterpart in the real world.
The character wakes up on his body, with the USS Callister crew now residing in his head and seeing the world through his eyes – very similar to what happens in the fourth season’s Black Museum episode.
She works to free her friends, but for now they have reached an agreement: they agree to give her privacy occasionally in exchange for watching her favorite program, “The Real Housewives of Atlanta.”
About the end of the episode, director Charlie Brooker explained that he did not replace the real -world Nanette, but that they were fused.
“It closes this cycle in a way that seemed important, because its real version is definitely not as complete as the digital version,” the creator said in a statement on the official Netflix website.
“Virtual Nanette went through a lot, stood out and became a very capable leader, while real -world nanette is late in that,” Brooker added.
As for the crew, they are not dead, but are arrested again. “It’s a kind of ultra-black mirror end,” he noted. “Although it’s a little hopeful, they are not in a very good situation.”
Is it possible to have another continuation in a next season of Black Mirror?
“I would not discard, but I wouldn’t say we have a plan defined for that,” said Brooker. “There are several episodes of Black Mirror to which I would definitely come back if we found the right story.”
