According to the authorities, a generator was being used to feed an oxygen device that one of the victims needed to use.
A “high concentration of carbon monoxide” was detected in the building where the bodies were found, police said.
It is still unclear what caused Monday’s blackout, which impacted millions of people in Spain and Portugal.
