At the altar, Patrick also reads a message to the family and friends present at the ceremony. “We are here not celebrating a label that is marriage, but celebrating our joy, our companionship, our complicity in everything we have experienced,” he says.

The lovebirds were very emotional after announcing their decision and also made the public cry. “Today we are not getting married, but tomorrow we have our whole lives ahead of us and we are going to let life guide us, in the same way that it has always guided us towards the happiness that we so much seek,” added the traffic manager in his message.

“We’re not getting married. That’s okay! Each one in their own time. We’re going to respect the process and this time. It’s a ‘no’ to marriage at this time, in this way, but a ‘yes’ for both of us,” Marília reads in her vows. “This is still a celebration of love, so let’s celebrate,” she mentions at the end. Despite not making the marriage official, the couple kisses.

Patrick, in turn, ends his participation in the reality show by saying: “Now it’s time to continue on this path, we’re together, let’s see what happens and if one day, we mature and get married, it will be very welcome.”

Remember the journey of Marília and Patrick

At 37 years old, bank employee Marília Pinheiro got engaged to traffic manager Patrick Ribeiro, 32. While still in the booths, the participant mistook his fiancée for Renata, who is also part of the season’s cast.

Sharing similar personalities, the couple even exchanged some barbs in real life, right after their honeymoon, when Marília reported that she was looking for more attention and maturity from her partner. One of the examples she mentioned was the amount of time he spent on his cell phone or sleeping, while she performed other tasks alone.

Furthermore, the bank employee also showed some discomfort with the way Patrick usually expresses himself in relation to marriage, treating the subject as a possibility and not a certainty.
