Blinken in China from April 24 to 26

US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken will travel to China next week, from April 24 to 26, for talks on the Middle East, Ukraine and the situation in the South China Sea, the State Department announced today. The talks are aimed at “strengthening channels of communication (and reducing) the risk of miscalculation and conflict,” a senior State Department official said. “(Blicknen) will articulate clearly and candidly our concerns on issues ranging from human rights, unfair financial and trade practices to the global economic consequences of (China's) industrial capacity … our deep concerns about supporting (China's) in Russia's defense industry,” the official said. In November, as APE-MPE reminds, US President Joe Biden and his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping met in California after a year without communication.
