Blinken’s stern message to Iran: You are supporting organizations that are creating momentum for escalation of war in the Middle East

The US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken stated today that Washington sees an escalation dynamic in the ongoing war in the Middle Eastmainly because of the actions of Iran and the organizations it supportsin the area.

It is noted that Iran has openly declared its support for the Lebanese Shiite organization Hezbollah, while it seems that it maintains strong ties with Hamas as well. The US Secretary of State, he did not hide his concern about Tehran’s moves. The US is not seeking escalation, Blinken added during an interview with NBC News. He noted that the US hopes that more hostages will be released by the Palestinian Islamist group Hamas.

But, he warned, that if Iran pulls the strings then US forces will respond if necessary. We don’t want to see forces in danger or open fire, but if called upon to do so, they will, we are readyhe added.

Responding to a journalist’s question, if the US is trying to delay Israel’s ground attack on Gaza, so that negotiations for the hostages can proceed, the US minister said that no country can fail to condemn the attack on Israel by Hamas and assert that Israel has the right to self-defense. We have regular communication with Israel, he added and said that Washington talks daily with various sides about the hostages and their release while the primary goal is to return home safely those held hostage.
