Blockaid co-founder Ido-Ben-Natan, commenting on the report, said that there are two factors contributing to the spread of fraud in the Solana ecosystem. Such factors include a sharp increase in the number of tokens in the last six months, caused by increased excitement around memcoins, and the spread of FOMO among users.
Ido-Ben-Nathan stressed that it is necessary to strengthen cybersecurity measures in the Solana network in the near future to prevent an even greater increase in fraudulent projects.
“The excitement around memcoins among users is growing. It encourages us to look for new opportunities, which is what malicious actors take advantage of,” he said.
Cryptanalyst ZachXBT also drew attention to the problem of a large number of presales in Solana. According to his information, in just one week in March 2024, 33 presales took place on the network, collecting $137 million.
Previously, the Solana blockchain development team announced that the launch of new projects would be suspended until April 15 while technical problems related to network congestion and transaction errors were resolved.
