Moscow University Synergy announced the launch of a separate faculty of blockchain and cryptocurrencies, which should become a platform for obtaining verified knowledge and competencies in this area.

Students will study cryptocurrencies and distributed ledger technology, the impact of digital assets on the economy, and analyze the legal aspects of using cryptocurrencies.

“Applicants showed high interest in this direction. As part of the educational program, they will master blockchain technologies and how to use them, students will get acquainted with cryptography and security principles in this area, the development and architecture of blockchain applications, as well as smart contract programming,” the university said in a statement.

Also, a lot of attention will be paid to the development of software for the field of blockchain and cryptocurrencies at the new faculty. Students will learn the Java and C++ programming languages, learn how to create chat bots, AI and neural networks, and work with big data. There will be subjects on the administration of information systems.

Synergy plans to attract specialists from companies working in the field of blockchain and cryptocurrencies. For example, students will be able to practice in Loginom, Pix Robotics, 1C, GreenData, Red Soft, Astra Linux, Alt Linux and others.

It should be noted that back in 2018, blockchain courses appeared in three Russian universities.
