The Blockchain Association has formed a committee to support crypto-acceptance candidates “from across the political spectrum” in the upcoming midterm congressional elections.
The association said the move aims to build a crypto lobby and underscores the industry’s push for growth in Washington, where it faces misunderstandings from some lawmakers and regulators.
“We plan to strengthen and expand our presence in Congress, where lawmakers and regulators address key issues of economic freedom, digital privacy and financial inclusion,” said Kristin Smith, Executive Director of the Blockchain Association.
Recall that last year the Blockchain Association opposed a bill that introduces tough rules for businesses working with cryptocurrency and expands the reporting requirements for crypto brokers.
