Blockchain school to open in Saudi Arabia

The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology of Saudi Arabia (MCIT) has become the founder of the blockchain academy as part of the national project for the development of human capital.

The Saudi Blockchain Academy (SDA) will be required to work in conjunction with the Swiss Bitcoin SV Association (BSV) to help start-ups and established businesses, as well as government agencies, adopt blockchain technology.

The new educational institution aims to provide tools for educating developers, students and aspiring entrepreneurs interested in blockchain. The main task is to prepare young specialists for work in the field of modern information technologies.

The project is being developed as part of Saudi Vision 2030, a program to reduce Saudi Arabia’s oil dependence. The Academy is going to use the BSV blockchain, a corporate network for large businesses and government agencies.

“We are looking to develop new areas within Saudi Vision 2030, and blockchain is one of them. We are proud to work with the BSV team and look forward to building one of the strongest blockchain education programs in the world,” said Faris AlSaqabi, Deputy Head of MCIT.

Recall that in 2020 it became known that the research division of the Islamic Development Bank of Saudi Arabia (IRTI), together with the Bloco startup, is developing a blockchain-based loan management system.
