Bloomberg: ECB meeting next week over coronavirus via teleconference

The European Central Bank will hold the meeting of the BoD. next week via video conference, as cases in Germany rose to record levels, according to Bloomberg News sources.

While central bankers have been attending ECB meetings in Frankfurt in recent months, a seminar in early December was held remotely.

The staff will continue to work from home until March 21 according to current plans, in accordance with the decisions of the German government.

The daily cases of the largest economy in the world are showing signs of peaking, however the ICUs continue to receive suffocating pressures in various parts of the country.

Chancellor Olaf Schultz did not even rule out tougher restrictions during the Christmas period, as the country prepares for the spread of the Omicron mutation.
