Last week, Roskomnadzor once again warned Google and YouTube about a possible blocking, blocking YouTube in Russia was also allowed by Sergey Boyarsky, First Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Information Policy. Although Google has not yet closed its office in Russia, in recent weeks the company has begun moving its workers out of the country. A Google spokesperson declined to comment, but a person familiar with the matter said Google had 244 employees in its Moscow office and is helping anyone who wants to leave. According to another source, Google also removed the company’s local office, which employed about 50 people, from Ukraine.
