Google is one of the few American companies still operating in Russia, however, according to Bloomberg, Google has already begun to take workers out of the country amid mounting tensions with the authorities. YouTube has become a bone of contention.

Last week, Roskomnadzor once again warned Google and YouTube about a possible blocking, blocking YouTube in Russia was also allowed by Sergey Boyarsky, First Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Information Policy. The company believes that after the video service blocked the channel of the Russian Ministry of Defense, everything really goes towards blocking YouTube in Russia.
Although Google has not yet closed its office in Russia, in recent weeks the company has begun moving its workers out of the country. A Google spokesperson declined to comment, but a person familiar with the matter said Google had 244 employees in its Moscow office and is helping anyone who wants to leave. According to another source, Google also removed the company’s local office, which employed about 50 people, from Ukraine.
