Bloomberg: Turkey has formally applied to join the BRICS group

According to the American network Bloomberg where it cited sources, Turkey has submitted a request months ago to join the BRICS. Sources cited by Bloomberg reportedly said that Turkey made the application due to its frustration over years of lack of progress in the European Union (EU) accession process. President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s government believes the geopolitical center of gravity is shifting away from developed economies, according to the sources, who spoke on condition of anonymity.
