“Blue Homeland” theorist: If Turkey leaves NATO, Cyprus and Israel will join

The former chief of the General Staff of the Turkish Naval Forces, admiral e.a., continues to create scenarios. Speaking to the Haber7 network, the so-called “theoretician of the Blue Homeland” noted that there may be important developments due to the veto set by the Turkey for Sweden’s accession to NATO.

“Today they cannot directly intervene in Turkey. But once Turkey withdraws from NATO, they will join Cyprus and Israel in NATO. The “Greek Cypriot Administration” (as the Turks call the Republic of Cyprus, which they do not recognize as an independent state) will join in the same way as it was accepted in the European Union and the sole representative of Cyprus will appear,” he stressed.

At the same time, the head of the Naval and Strategic Studies Center of the private Bakhseşehir University, argued that since the Cyprus becomes part of NATO, there will be a question of possession of part of an Alliance country by another third country. “Then article 5 will be applied against Turkey, telling her either you will leave Cyprus or we will expel you” were his words.

He also noted that a possible withdrawal of Turkey from NATO would lead Greece to increase its territorial waters to 12 nautical miles and in the event of Turkey’s reaction, there would be allied support for Athens. “If Turkey withdraws from NATO, Greece can increase its territorial waters.
