Blue team gains momentum: ASRock introduced its version of the Intel Arc A380 graphics card

Intel announced its desire to enter the discrete graphics market more than a year ago, but it was only last month that the first model from partner company Gunnir appeared on the Chinese market. And although the new Arc A380 showed rather modest results in leaked tests, which were probably associated with incomplete drivers, other computer component manufacturers immediately became interested in a new niche. After all, although now Intel does not seem to be a strong player in the video card market, in a year or even earlier the situation may change dramatically. This is exactly what the developers from ASRock thought, who also presented their own version of the video card.

It is worth recalling that some time ago, unofficial information appeared on the network that ASUS and MSI also plan to release their non-reference video cards in partnership with Intel, but so far they have not presented their product options. But the ASRock Arc A380 Challenger ITX OC graphics card on the Blue Team GPU has already been released – this is an entry-level graphics card that is suitable for fairly compact cases or affordable gaming builds. And, of course, this release is also significant because ASRock previously produced video cards exclusively on AMD Radeon chips – even NVIDIA was not honored with a partnership agreement with this manufacturer.

Naturally, the ASRock Arc A380 Challenger ITX OC graphics card was built by the manufacturer on its own printed circuit board, which is visually smaller than the one presented by Gunnir. This video card works on a single 8-pin power connector, while the ACM-G11 graphics chip directly from the factory boasts impressive overclocking – the manufacturer claims a clock frequency of 2250 MHz. Perhaps the graphics core can be overclocked to higher frequencies, but not in this case – cooling from a single fan, most likely, simply cannot cope with elevated temperatures. And the video card also has 6 GB of built-in GDDR6 video memory, which works on a 96-bit bus – this should be enough for Full HD.

At the moment, the ASRock Arc A380 Challenger ITX OC graphics card is only sold in Chinese local stores (however, they have worldwide shipping) for about $190. This is actually a fairly affordable retail price, even against the background of competitors from NVIDIA and AMD.
