BMW has unveiled the serial BMW CE 04 electric scooter, which is equipped with a 42 hp electric motor. It allows the scooter to accelerate from 0 to 50 km / h in 2.6 seconds.
The BMW CE 04 electric scooter has a battery capacity of 8.9 kWh and a range of around 130 km. There will also be a less powerful version (31 hp) with a range of 100 km. The maximum speed of both versions is 120 km / h, which is enough for fast movement not only in the city, but also on the highway.
The new BMW CE 04 has a permanent magnet electric motor mounted in the frame between the battery and the rear wheel. BMW Motorrad has carried out extensive driving tests in order to develop a specific type of recuperation for each driving mode, providing the driver with a high level of comfort. This means that optimum performance and driving characteristics are available in any driving situation.
The battery can be charged using the built-in 2.3 kW charger, either from a wall outlet or from a wall module or public charging station. When the battery is completely discharged, the charging time is 4 hours and 20 minutes. The fast charger reduces the time to 1 hour and 40 minutes. If you need to charge the battery from 20 to 80%, then the time will be 45 minutes.
Three driving modes are available to users (ECO, Rain and Road). Standard equipment includes a 10.25-inch color display with FullHD resolution (1920 x 720 pixels) with built-in navigation. It is also possible to connect a smartphone with the output of contacts on the screen. The smartphone itself can be left in a ventilated compartment, which is protected from moisture, and a USB connector is provided for charging it.
Buyers will be offered various versions of the scooter (Avantgarde, Comfort and Dynamic), which differ in comfort, ABS Pro system, heating and other options. Sales of the device will start next year at a price of 11,990 euros.
