BMW showed the design of its upcoming vehicles in the Concept XM. Angular and monstrous

BMW M has unveiled the Concept XM, a concept car that is set to be the German brand’s most powerful vehicle. It is also a showcase for new designs for future models in the premium segment. It will be the first standalone BMW M model since the BMW M1 and heralds the brand’s step-by-step approach to electrification. Production of the BMW XM will begin at the end of 2022, and the presentation of the concept itself will take place at Art Basel 2021.

The BMW Concept XM has received the latest M Hybrid powertrain, consisting of a V8 engine and an electric motor, with a total output of 750 hp. and 1000 Nm. An electric vehicle can travel up to 80 km solely on electric traction. The novelty features an aggressive and more pronounced front end design with a new XM emblem and large air intakes. Its peculiarity is the division of the headlights into two modules with contour lighting. The upper one is made in the form of a narrow section with daytime running lights.

The design of the rear of the vehicle underlines its sporty character. The rear window features two BMW branded emblems that have been laser engraved. This is a reference to the iconic BMW M1. The rear bumper houses four tailpipes, which not only create the distinctive sound of the V8 engine, but also prevent back pressure from the exhaust. The BMW Concept XM is painted in two colors, with the upper body in matt gold-bronze and the lower in space gray metallic. Completing the overall design are 23-inch alloy wheels and wide wheel arches.

In the interior, everything is done in accordance with the M Lounge: comfortable seats, three-dimensional illuminated ceiling and other luxury elements. Around – decorative panels made of carbon fiber with a copper structure, leather and velvet trim, as well as a special carpet with deep pile.

The BMW Concept XM is equipped with the next generation Curved Display with iDrive. A special version of the BMW M interface is installed here, which will appear in all future models of the brand.
