According to Der Spiegel, BMW intends to fully convert its sister brand Mini to electric powertrains by 2030. Thus, Mini will become the first fully electric brand from the portfolio of the German concern. The last new internal combustion engine is expected to arrive under the Mini’s bonnet in 2025.
And although there is only one pure electric car in the Mini lineup – the Cooper SE (aka Mini Electric), an all-electric Countryman should appear in 2023. And then there were two more electric models. Rumor has it that BMW will officially reveal its plans to fully electrify the Mini next week.
