BNB Greenfield mainnet launched

After five months of work, the BNB Greenfield test network entered the mainnet. This was reported by the BNB Chain team.

“Today we launched the BNB Greenfield mainnet. It is fully open to the public and marks a new era of data ownership in Web3,” the developers wrote on X (formerly Twitter).

In April 2023, decentralized storage infrastructure provider BNB Greenfield launched a network testnet. For several months, users could deploy nodes and test the functionality of the ecosystem.

The developers clarified that during testing the network processed more than 200,000 on-network transactions and was connected to 150,000 unique wallet addresses.

According to the team, BNB Greenfield is focused on secure and decentralized data storage. It has high throughput, built-in access control and a number of other useful functions.

“BNB Greenfield is a revolutionary development in data ownership on Web3. It provides users with a decentralized alternative to traditional cloud services. But unlike them, BNB Greenfield gives you the opportunity to control your data, reducing the risk of hacking,” said BNB Chain representative Arno Bauer.

In September 2023, the BNB Chain team launched the mainnet of another opBNB project. We analyzed its architecture and operating principles in detail.
