The Board of Directors of IRB Brasil Resseguros elected, in an extraordinary meeting, Marcos Pessoa de Queiroz Falcão as the new president after the resignation of Raphael de Carvalho. Falcão will temporarily accumulate the position of Executive Vice President of Underwriting.
In a material fact sent to the Securities and Exchange Commission (CVM), the IRB informs that the executive will take office in said positions, with mandates for the remaining term of the Company’s Statutory Board, accumulating such positions with the position of member of the Board of Directors until the date of election of his substitute for the aforementioned collegiate body.
Falcão holds a degree in Economic Sciences from the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (PUC-RJ) and a master’s degree from the Stanford Graduate School of Business. The new president has experience in talent management and financial assets, and a good relationship with the financial and capital markets, essential qualities in this new phase of the Company.
The IRB points out that the new president accumulates experience in the company, having acted more recently, since May 2020, as a member of the Board of Directors and of the Investment Committee (in the capacity of coordinator), having participated since the beginning of the process of turnaround of the company.
The executive, among several professional experiences, was a partner and administrator of financial institutions, insurance companies and entities operating in the national and international capital markets, especially in the Icatu Group, among other functions as president of Icatu Seguros and partner and executive director of Banco Icatu.
