On social media, Boca Rosa explained that “when tonsillitis attacks, the kidney also suffers and I end up in the hospital with chills and fever, an absurdly inflamed throat and then only medication in a vein to control it”.

The influencer pointed out that, even reducing stress at work and maintaining a balanced diet, in addition to regular physical exercises, tonsillitis returned after a few months since the last crisis.

Bianca also stated that, after talking with her doctors, she decided that she will undergo surgery to remove her tonsils.

What is nephritis?

According to the Pró-Rim Foundation, nephritis is a chronic kidney disease that causes inflammation of the organ, which is responsible for eliminating toxins and excess components from the body.

One of the main causes of the syndrome is bacterial infections, which is exactly what happened to Boca Rosa.

When not completely eliminated, the bacteria that cause tonsillitis can remain in the body and move to other organs, such as the kidneys – causing nephritis.

Symptoms and treatment of nephritis

The syndrome causes several symptoms. Among the main ones, the decrease and reddening of the urine, excess sweating, swelling of the eyes or legs and increased blood pressure stand out.

Treatment of nephritis depends on how the disease was caused. In the case of an infection, the nephrologist may prescribe an antibiotic.

Other measures are usually the reduction of salt intake and control of fluid intake, in addition to the use of antihypertensive drugs to control blood pressure.
