The body of indigenist Bruno Araújo arrived in Recife, capital of Pernambuco, on Thursday night (23), transported by a Federal Police plane.
Before heading to the city of the indigenist’s family, the aircraft stopped at Galeão Airport, in Rio de Janeiro, where it left the body of British journalist Dom Phillips.
The bodies of the pair, who disappeared at Amaonas earlier this month, were released by the National Institute of Criminalistics and went to the cities where they lived, accompanied by the crew and an expert from the Federal Police, who is investigating the case.
Bruno will be veiled this Friday (24/6) and Dom in Niterói, in the metropolitan region of Rio de Janeiro, on Sunday (26).
With Dom’s body, the agents found his wedding ring. The object was returned to the widow, Alessandra Sampaio. Her brothers went to the airport to accompany the arrival of their brother-in-law’s body.
