The Pernambuco Military Fire Department located the body of the 40-year-old tourist from São Paulo, who had been missing since last Saturday (14), after drowning at Praia do Paiva, in Cabo de Santo Agostinho, Greater Recife. The body was found this Monday (16), around 10:30 am, after two days of searching.
The man had disappeared on Saturday, while bathing in the sea. At the time, two other people also drowned, but were rescued alive by the Fire Department.
The victims received treatment at the scene and were taken to hospitals by the Mobile Emergency Care Service (Samu), but their health status has not yet been released.
The search for the man was suspended on Saturday at 4 pm for security reasons, resumed on Sunday (15) and continued on Monday, with support from a helicopter, land vehicles and a rescue jet ski.
The Fire Department issued a warning to take extra care when bathing in the sea, especially with the arrival of summer, which brings more bathers to the beaches of Pernambuco.
