BoE: UK wage growth remains a concern for inflation – Catherine Mann

In an Economics Show podcast with the Financial Times (FT), Bank of England (BoE) policymaker Catherine Mann warned that “UK wage growth remains a concern for inflation.”

Prices for goods and services were expected to rise again, and wage pressures in the economy could take years to dissipate.

She remains concerned about upside risks to inflation even though the main rate remained at the bank’s 2 percent target in June.

It had dropped from 10 to seven on a “toughness” scale since the start of the year as price pressures eased.
