Boeing may face criminal charges over two fatal crashes in 2018 and 2019

The U.S. Department of Justice said in a letter to a federal judge that Boeing did not comply with some of the terms of the agreement, which provides that the company will avoid criminal prosecution for the two plane crashes of the 737 MAX plane that caused the death of 346 people in total at the end of 2018 and at the beginning of 2019 respectively. From now on, “Boeing can be criminally prosecuted” in these cases, the Ministry of Justice informs in its letter, which states that it is studying the possibility of prosecuting or not against the company which is in a major crisis after a series of recent accidents. “We believe we have complied with the terms of this agreement,” Boeing said in a statement saying it was ready to “respond” to the case being handled by a federal judge in Texas.
