Boeing said on Tuesday that its deliveries had risen in September to 51 planes, while it had 90 orders, with the manufacturer seeing strong demand for new aircraft.
Deliveries last month matched the figure for June, when it topped 50 planes for the first time since March 2019.
In August, deliveries rose to 35 planes with the resumption of its 787 Dreamline after a 15-month delay.
Last month, the company received 51 new orders for 737 MAX planes and 45 twin-aisle planes, including 14 777s. In September, Boeing delivered 14 dual-aisle aircraft, including 7 787s, including three 787-8s to American Airlines.
Boeing’s commercial backlog now stands at 4,354 planes. Boeing delivered 328 jets in the first nine months of 2022, including 267 737 MAXs.
Boeing has until December to obtain regulatory approval for the MAX 10, a slightly larger model than the 737 MAXs in service, as well as a smaller variant, the MAX 7.
Unless it wins an extension from Congress, the company must meet new cockpit warning requirements that could significantly delay the planes’ entry into service.
