Bologna, thousands at the Music for Peace concert

Great success for the Bologna concert of March 5 in favor of Save the childrenin the presence of over seven thousand people. From an idea launched on Twitter a month ago by The list representative (Veronica Lucchesi)the city has given life to an event that sympathizes with the devastating conditions of the Ukrainian people (in the country the association has been operating since 2014 to distribute aid to families in difficulty).

“These are days of great dismay – comments Veronica Lucchesi – war leaves us defeated, distant and closed and alone. We will try, through music, to send a signal of peace ».

On the stage of It’s up to us – Music for Peace in piazza Maggioreorganized by the Municipality in collaboration with the Region and with the support of Rai for social issues, was staged under the Towers with a rich program of Italian artists presented by Andrea Delogu. Mayor Matteo Lepore welcomed Gianni Morandisuper star of the evening, and to all those present: Elisa, Noemi, Brunori, Diodato, Gaia, Fask, The Zen Circus, Elodie, Benvegnù, Rancore.

The evening with free admission, sold out in two hours from the opening of the online booking, it will be broadcast on Rai Tre in prime time on Thursday 7 April (also on Radio2).

«I am very happy – explains Morandi – to participate at the concert in Piazza Maggiore in Bologna on April 5 and just as happy that my city, the Municipality and the Region have accepted this appeal launched in recent weeks by the List Representative, to whom all my esteem goes for having this idea. I adhere enthusiastically to their call, given the importance of the cause that makes us all equal and all united in these difficult moments ».

Elisa adds: «What is happening in Ukraine is inhumane and now is the time to raise a common voice. My solidarity goes to all those who are suffering from the conflict, but above all it goes to the children, silent spectators and innocent protagonists of a war between adults who suffer unjustly. You cannot be silent and ignore it when schools and hospitals are destroyed, civilians die in the rubble, thousands of people are forced to hide and flee to protect themselves from bombs, and those who think otherwise are arrested. and silenced. We have a voice and we must make it heard, united with Bologna and always “
