President Jair Bolsonaro (PL) resumed this Tuesday (14) the speech of attacks against Edson Fachin, minister of the STF (Federal Supreme Court) and president of the TSE (Superior Electoral Court), saying he can criticize decisions of the Justice.
Speaking to a group of businessmen at the Brazil Investment Forum in São Paulo, Bolsonaro spoke about facilitating the possession of weapons, a proposal by his government, and referred to a decision by the STF regarding police operations in communities in the state. of Rio de Janeiro, with direct attacks on Fachin.
“We obtained with Parliament the extended possession of the firearm. Today, the farmer rides his jeep, tractor, puts his gun on his hip and walks around the perimeter of the property. And if he is CAC [colecionador, atirador desportivo ou caçador]he puts a [fuzil] 762 in the back,” Bolsonaro said.
“Huh? In the hills of Rio, where Fachin says the police cannot enter or fly over helicopters, he is full of rifles. It became a refuge from banditry from all over Brazil. Congratulations, Minister Fachin, tremendous collaboration with drug trafficking and banditry in general. Is this a lie, fake news, or the truth? We cannot criticize decisions… why not? Who do they think they are?” he added.
Bolsonaro also cited the issue of the time frame on indigenous lands, which is being judged by the Supreme Court. The president again criticized Fachin when defending the criterion of the time frame, by which indigenous people can only claim the demarcation of lands already occupied by them before the date of promulgation of the Constitution of 1988.
“They wanted to approve a new time frame. It was decided in the 1988 Constitution that, until that moment, where there were indigenous peoples, it would be recognized as their land. Fachin decided, ‘no, if today an Indian wakes up lying here in front, this becomes an Indian’s land,'” Bolsonaro said.
“Once the Supreme accepts this, [vou] ask for an audience with the minister [Luiz] Fux and say ‘here is the key for Your Excellency to administer Brazil’ or say ‘I will not comply’. Is that heavy? No, this is real,” concluded the president.
