President Jair Bolsonaro (PL) is going to Russia this Monday (14th) to meet with the country’s president, Vladimir Putin, with whom he intends to discuss topics such as agribusiness, defense and energy.

Oil price rise

Oil has already advanced more than 18.2% at the beginning of the year and the barrel could reach US$ 120, if the Russian invasion takes place. After rising 54% in 2021, which resulted in a 47.5% rise in the price of gasoline in Brazil, the commodity has become one of the main sources of inflationary pressure.

Brazilians who missed the third dose

According to data from the Ministry of Health, at least 100 million Brazilians still need to take the third dose of the vaccine against Covid-19 in the country, and, of this group, 10 million people missed the deadline to seek booster vaccination.

Increase in inflation

The financial market forecast for inflation in 2022 rose for the fifth consecutive week. The average forecast for the IPCA reached 5.5%, compared to 5.44% last week. Thus, analysts are betting on a basic interest rate of 12.25% per year until the end of 2022.
