President Jair Bolsonaro (PL) rescheduled for next Tuesday (23) a meeting with businessmen from Grupo Esfera. According to aides to the president of the Palácio do Planalto, Bolsonaro will participate in a lunch in São Paulo with the group led by João Carlos Camargo.
Entrepreneurs Candido Pinheiro, from Hapvida; Abilio Diniz, from Carrefour; Flávio Rocha, from Riachuelo; and Eugênio Mattar, from Localiza.
The decision to reschedule the meeting with Esfera takes place on the same day that the group promotes a major event in São Paulo with the participation of ministers from the Bolsonaro government.
The Chief of Staff, Ciro Nogueira, was one of the speakers on the panel “The Balance of Powers”, in a debate with Minister Dias Toffoli, of the Federal Supreme Court (STF), and with the Speakers of the Chamber, Arthur Lira, and of the Senate, Rodrigo Pacheco.
The meeting was initially scheduled for August 11, the same day that the USP Law School (University of São Paulo) held an act in defense of democracy.
The decision to cancel Bolsonaro’s trip was taken by the campaign HQ, under the assessment that, at that moment, meetings with businessmen would not bring any benefit to the president of the Palácio do Planalto. On the contrary, it would end up exposing him.
That same day, Bolsonaro would also participate in a conversation at Fiesp (Federation of Industries of the State of São Paulo).
