President Jair Bolsonaro sanctioned the Budget Guidelines Law of 2023, as published this Wednesday (10) in the Official Gazette of the Union. The project had 36 vetoed points.
The Budget Guidelines Law (LDO) establishes the goals and priorities for the following year. For this, it sets the amount of resources that the government intends to save and the expenses.
The preparation and approval must be compatible with the primary deficit target of R$ 65,905,760,000.00 for the fiscal and social security budgets.
The companies of the Petrobras and Eletrobras Groups will not be considered in the primary deficit target, according to the publication.
The 2023 LDO was approved by the National Congress on July 12. In the Chamber, there were 324 votes in favor of the basic text and 110 votes against, while 46 senators voted in favor and 23 against.
