Bolsonaro says he intends to recreate Ministry of Industry and Commerce in 2022

President Jair Bolsonaro (PL) said this Thursday (26) that he intends to recreate the Ministry of Industry and Commerce .

“It was a request that was already mature and has now sealed its end. Once there is another opportunity, later this year, it will be in the hands of the [presidente da Câmara, Arthur] Lira the recreation of the Ministry of Industry and Commerce”, said Bolsonaro, pre-candidate for reelection, during the inauguration ceremony of the board of the Federation of Industries of Minas Gerais (Fiemg), in Belo Horizonte.

He went to the pulpit to mention the possibility of recreation when the president of Fiemg, Flavio Roscoe, gave a speech and asked for the resumption of the portfolio.

After Bolsonaro’s announcement, Flávio Roscoe, president of Fiemg, thanked him and said that “we are waiting for his reappointment there. [à Presidência] for the recreation of the Ministry of Industry and Commerce with the support of our parliamentarians and President Arthur Lira”. The president of the Chamber also participated in the ceremony.

Created by President Juscelino Kubitschek in 1960, the Ministry of Industry ceased to exist at the beginning of the Bolsonaro government, when the portfolio was merged with others in the Ministry of Economy, commanded by Paulo Guedes.

“We don’t want to talk about gender ideology anymore”

In his speech afterwards, Bolsonaro defended his government’s foreign relations policy, said that the country has been creating jobs despite the crises faced and compared his government to PT governments.

“We don’t want to talk about revoking the CLT reforms, we don’t want to get back together with Cuba, we don’t want to disarm good citizens, we don’t want to go back to lending to dictatorships in South America and some in our Africa”, declared the president.

“We don’t want to legalize drugs or abortion, nor do we want to talk about gender ideology for our children anymore, nor will we value the MST”, he added to applause from the audience.
