Fernando Borges, who was Executive Director of Exploration and Production, was chosen interim president of the company, which went against the interests of the Planalto.
Communications graduate Caio Paes de Andrade, whose name is being evaluated by the state-owned company’s Eligibility Committee, has had difficulties being nominated because he does not meet the criteria set out in the State-Owned Companies Law.

He also said that the government does not have full control over the state-owned company. “Petrobras is a company that is public and private. It’s both. So I don’t run there,” he said.
