Bolsonaro says that this year there will be no creation of ministries

This Thursday (16), during his traditional weekly live, the president Jair Bolsonaro (PL) denied that there will be any recreation of any ministry this year. The statement was made after the Chief Executive suggested the re-establishment of the Ministry of Sport, which was extinguished in 2019.

Alongside Marcelo Magalhães, Special Secretary for Sports, Bolsonaro insinuated that the portfolio “deserved to be the ministry in the future”, but clarified that this would only happen if he is re-elected. “This year there is no creation of a ministry, you can be sure, okay, guys?”, said the president.

On the 6th, the pre-candidate had already mentioned the idea of the return of the Public Security, Fisheries and Industry and Commerce portfolios if he manages to be reelected, in October. “We intend, in the event of a re-election, to better divide the ministries, create a maximum of three more, so that we can better manage our country,” Bolsonaro said in an interview with broadcaster Agro+.

Rising fuel prices

In the live broadcast, President Jair Bolsonaro also spoke about the rise in fuel prices. He celebrated the approval by the National Congress of the bill that set a ceiling of 17% for the Tax on the Circulation of Goods and Services (ICMS) on gasoline, diesel and ethanol. The Chief Executive has 15 days to sanction the text.

The president also appealed to the Petrobras not readjust the price of fuel. “I can only understand that it would be, a readjustment of Petrobras now, political interest to reach the federal government. I hope that Petrobras does not readjust the fuels, because until next week we will settle the issue of price reduction”, he said.

This Thursday, however, the board of directors of the state-owned company authorized the board to increase the value of diesel.
